So I got an old VGA monitor manufactured in 1995 by Digiview and I made it into an oscilloscope, however I have a couple of questions: 1) When I turn the monitor on, about half the time the monitor refuses to turn on and when it does turn on I hear a loud ring at first and the green light starts flickering but it straightens itself out after about a second. Is this normal? 2) How do I generate my own image so that I don't have to lower the screen resolution on my computer just so that the monitor doesn't fry itself?
